The application of nutrient solutions to the foliage plants is an alternative means fertilise crops. Foliar fertilisation used overcome disadvantages soil applications. Variable plant responses these foliar spray have often been described in literature. However, knowledge about penetration mechanisms, role a leaf-applied inorganic or organic solution, and results obtained by its still limited. complex character factors determining effects sprays hinders development suitable strategies, applicable under variable local conditions for various types. This review describes some basic involved process olive (Olea europaea L.) trees. Chemistry, leaf penetration, nutrition principles will be merged with aim clarifying constraints, opportunities, future perspectives cure tree deficiencies and, hence, both increase yield improve fruit quality.
